James (“Jim”) joined Lanphier LLP in 2021, transitioning from large corporate accounting environments with the desire to add a much more personal touch to his work. He is a results-driven, dependable, and analytical accounting manager with a proven track record of building strong relationships and systems for clients and within the teams he works.
A Colorado native who grew up in Lakewood and currently lives in Littleton, Jim graduated from Colorado State University in 2010 with a B.S. in Business Administration – Accounting emphasis. For most of his professional career before Lanphier LLP, Jim was an oil and gas operations accountant specializing in production and regulatory reporting, revenue allocations by wells and owners, and production taxes. This experience fostered his passion for developing and implementing high-performance accounting reporting systems. The main element Jim wanted that was missing in a corporate environment was diversity in his work and being client-facing, so he is thrilled to come full-circle working on a variety of tasks, clients and industries at Lanphier LLP.
When not working, Jim enjoys spending his time with his three kids – Annie, Caroline, and Jack, and trying to keep up with his wife, Michelle. For hobbies, Jim is a fan of baseball (Rockies) and football (Steelers and Broncos – yes, in that order!), traveling, and enjoying Colorado summers with frequent mountain biking and hiking.
